Just got home after a great trip to the UAE. Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has so much going on in the Tokenization of Private Markets it is wonderful to be there and be a part of it. We met with great friends, partners, and clients. G42, Securrency, Cushman & Wakefield, Cavendish, JLL, Fasset, Venom Foundation, Inception and so many others.
The role a bank has played over the past 650 years of facilitating trust between, individuals, corporations, cities and nations as Value is stored, invested, and traded in the development of production and innovation, this is all changing. With the ability to price, surveil, trade, and convert to currency of real world assets (i.e. real estate) will transform Store of Value. This willingness, and raw compute capability will leapfrog the US.
Private Markets will just become Markets globally trading in regulated and forward leaning jurisdictions. Lending will be transformed, Private Credit Repo Markets are developing, the collateral if accelerated against st will be resold on a tokenized Markets. Private Markets will eventually just become, Markets...
The melding of Non-bank lending in Markets with Banks and RWA capital stack trading digitally will transform banking, add in DeFi lending and you have the next version of Capital Markets. We need Investment Banking to structure into this arena...
